The group was founded in 2016, mainly covering Gatley and Wythenshawe. In 2020, the community expanded outwards and now also covers Stockport Town Centre and its neighbouring towns.

In September 2022, the community became a member of Niantic's Community Ambassador Program, with both Ambassadors going through background checks, enabling us to offer in-game rewards through the Niantic Campfire app.

Stockbot, the group mascot, was constructed by Professor Marko in March 2023. It now features prominently across the group logo. And if you're lucky, it'll grant you the Jackpot prize in our Lucky Dips.

The community aims to provide competitions, help and news for the game. All players are welcome, no matter their skill level, and are encouraged to ask for whatever support they need. You can find more information on our 'PoGO Stockport & Wythenshawe' Campfire Community or via our Facebook group.

The admin team hosts meets throughout the week; you can meet us at Wednesday Raid Hours in both Gatley and Vernon Park, with monthly Community Day meets at Viaduct Park in Stockport Town Centre.
